Maldive Victory

A great place for veteran divers, Maldive Victory remains a must visit in Maldives. It has its bottom at 37M and looks splendid with a sandy base next to Hulhule reef. This cargo ship hit against a reef and sank on 13 February 1981. The ship was 3500 tons - 83m long freighter that was sailing from Singapore to Male. Since then it became a great under water attraction for tourists seeking a spectacular diving experience.

Though nothing of worth was found in the ship after 9 months of recovery, its front compartment still has radios, cassette players, umbrellas and some toys. However, one should know that currents are extremely strong here and not fit for novice divers. Start diving in the mast along the bow and move along the deck. While diving is all about exploring the underwater world, seeing this ship deep under the sea is an all new experience. ?
