Tsunami Photo Museum

Located in Telawatta, the Tsunami Photo Museum of Sri Lanka was established in the memory of the victims of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, which struck in the year 2004. There are collection of photographs, newspaper reports and personal stories inside the museum, offering a glimpse into the aftermath of the tsunami. There is also a separate section that contains a series of hand-written accounts of the tsunami experiences, poetry as well as paintings. It’s one of the worth visiting attractions of Sri Lanka.

Prayer Facilities
Though a designated prayer area is not available at the Photo Museum, one can always request for a private area to make use of during the prayer times. Muslim travellers may also visit some of the mosques in Gintota ? which is located about 12 kilometres away ? such as the Avalmale Mosque, Welipitimodara Mosque and Meeram Mosque.
