Spiritual Tibet The Land of Snow

Mount Kailash

Mount Kailash remains one of the most beautiful and sacred mountains. Mount Kailash rises to a height of 6,656 meters above the sea level. The mountain is considered as sacred by four religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Bon. Mount Kailash stands peak in the Kailas Range and is very close to some of the longest rivers in Asia like Brahmaputra River, Ganges River and Indus River to name a few.

Mount Kailash remains blanketed with snow all year round. Its beauty is truly surreal. People visiting here fall in love with heavenly vistas spotted from here.

Every year streams of Tibetans take up the pilgrimage to Kailash. This has been an age old traditions now which holds great significance even today. As per many religions, circumambulating Mount Kailash is the holiest ritual which brings good fortune. While Hindus and Buddhists perform circumambulation in clockwise direction, Jain and Bonpo pilgrims perform circumambulation in counter clockwise direction. ?This whole path is 52km long and holds great significance among the pilgrims visiting here from all over the world.

Due to harsh weather conditions here, travellers are advised to pack enough warm clothes, a tent and a sleeping bag. This is a beautiful location to stay. Many accommodation options and restaurants are available at the base of the mountain. Restaurants here serve simple but delectable food. Photographers often visit this place to capture mind blowing pictures and videos. Visitors are advised to pack light to enjoy a carefree journey to the mountain.
