Ooty

Nilgiri Mountain Railway, Toy Train, is perhaps the most spectacular charm of Ooty. The train was started in the year 1899 and runs 46 km in a span of 5 hours. It is a beautiful train ride that passes through forests, tunnels and sharp bends. It is a lifetime experience for every traveller visiting Ooty.

Ooty Lake is a great place to fall in love with the beauty of this hill station. The lake sprawls over 65 acres and All around the lake you can see Eucalyptus trees and ample of greenery. It is a great place for photography enthusiasts too. Boating facilities are available here. Nature lovers must also spend some time at Ooty Botanical Gardens sprawled over an area of 22 hectares. The garden is perfect to relish leisurely strolls and to explore a variety of flowers, ferns and orchids. The garden was set up in the year 1848 and presents a beautiful collection of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees and herbal plants. Ooty Rose Garden is also a beautiful garden where you can enjoy vistas of beautiful fragrant roses. Walk around it and enjoy captivating fragrances of roses in different colours and sizes.

At a distance of 9 km from the hill station, Doddabetta is a perfect escape for nature devotees. This is the highest point in Nilgiri Mountains at an altitude of 2623 m. Most of surroundings of this hill are forested. Tall rhododendron trees adorn the hill and from here you can enjoy splendid panoramic view of the landscape.
