Pushkar

Pushkar remains a popular spiritual location in the state of Rajasthan. People visit here from all corners of the world to visit the rare temple of Lord Brahma. Pushkar remains extremely packed during the yearly festival of Pushkar Fair when thousands of devotees and travellers visit here to indulge in worshipping and take a dip into the holy water of the sacred Pushkar Lake.

Pushkar Lake is worshipped by the Hindu devotees. People come here to enjoy a bath in the Pushkar which cleanses the soul. The lake looks beautiful and has many ghats where you can sit for hours, exploring the serenity of the place. Many migratory birds also flock at the lake during certain seasons.

Brahma's Temple is perhaps the most popular attraction of Pushkar. Known with the name of Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, this temple is one of the very few Brahma temples on the planet. It has a fascinating architecture with pillared outdoor hall. Many important festivals are celebrated at this festival. Varah Temple is another ancient temple of Pushkar dedicated to Varaha. The temple was constructed in the 12th century. The temple has an old legend associated with it and deserves a visit.

Also visit the very popular Savitri Temple sitting on the top of the Ratnagiri Hill. It is believed that this is the place where Goddess Savitri rested after rebelling against her husband, Lord Shiva. The temple can be reached by taking a 60 minutes trek. From here you can relish beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Rangji Temple is another spectacular temple of Pushkar town. The Shrine is dedicated to Lord Rangii and flaunts South Indian architecture. The place is surrounded by a charming ambience which soothes your soul.

Pushkar has many historical wonders as well and Man Mahal is one of them. This is the biggest royal residence in Pushkar. Everything about this palace is magnificent. Sarovar Lake flows right next to the palace, adding to its outlook.
